PERFORMANCE CLUTCH KITS

Bruce Schrader has been tuning clutches since 1978. His experience has given him a great understanding of how the centrifugal snowmobile clutch system works. These clutch kits are designed specifically for the performance minded trail rider, looking for the best possible acceleration while maintaining the back-shift needed when going through the bumps, or coming out of a corner. All kits are designed under real snow conditions, and include all the necessary components and instructions for easy installation.

'08-'10 Nytro

The acceleration and top speed with our kit is similar to stock. The big improvement is throttle response. Instant throttle response makes the Nytro a lot more fun to ride! In the bumps, getting the front end up, or out of a corner the kit makes the sled have more of a snow cross mentality.

Apex & Attak

 The Apex & Attak are both clutched more for touring than for performance. We change weights, primary spring, and helix. When installed our kit improves acceleration, along with giving the sled a “performance” feel. Standing and roll on acceleration is much better along with improve throttle response (back-shift).

 Vector & '06-'07 Nytro 

Give your sled the performance to run with the 2 strokes! The clutching of the 3 cylinder four stroke is very linear. By installing one of our clutch kits you’ll get the hit out of your sled that will dramatically improve acceleration, getting you from point a to point b much quicker. Kit features new weight, primary spring, billet helix, and secondary spring. 

RX-1 

This kit dramatically improves acceleration and throttle response. The RX-1 suffers from an under-rev, by installing our kit the engines R’s are increased, putting more power to the snow. Also by increasing the R’s back-shift (throttle response) is also improved. Kit comes with new primary spring, rollers, billet multi-angle helix, tuning rivets, and instructions.  

SX Viper 

The Viper suffers from an over-rev. The engine puts out maximum horsepower at 8500 Rpm’s, often we’ve seen them run up to 9000 Rpm’s on the trail. The over-rev not only hurts performance but also reduces fuel mileage. By getting rid of the over-rev acceleration, and all round performance is improved along with fuel mileage. Kit comes with primary spring, secondary spring, billet multi-angle helix, tuning rivets, and instructions. 

RX Warrior 

The Warrior suffers the same fate as the RX-1, the stock clutching causes an under-rev, not allowing the engines peak power to be put to the snow, along with sluggish throttle response. Our kit gets the R’s up resulting in a much flatter shift, improved acceleration, along with a much better back-shift, which greatly improves performance in the trails. Kit comes with primary spring, secondary spring, billet multi-angle helix, tuning rivets, and instructions.

BILLET MULTI-ANGLE HELIX'S

A multi-angle helix is designed to improve your sleds acceleration while maintaining back-shift. The initial angle of the helix is increased to compensate for the significant torque increase of the newer two stroke engines. As the RPM’s and speed increase, the helix angle drops, allowing for improved back-shift at higher speeds where the torque increase is not as significant. The first number is the initial angle, the point at which the helix is placed with the clutch in the closed position. The second number is the full shift angle, the helix angle changes at a steady rate until reaching this angle at full-shift. The quality of these helixes are equal to or better than any on the market at a lower price.

WEIGHT TUNING RIVETS

These tuning rivets allow you to change the weight of the primary clutch weight to change the shift RPM's. By increasing the weight it will lower shift RPM, by reducing the weight it will increase ship RPM. All rivets listed by set of 3. Long rivets are for the newer heavy 4 stroke weights. 4.5 rivets will work in all weights.

PIONEER PERFORMANCE PRIMARY CLUTCH SPRINGS

These primary springs are made from high quality chrome silicon wire. The pre-load of each spring is higher than any of the O.E.M. springs, resulting in a higher engagement RPM. The rate of each spring is lower than the springs that come stock in the performance models (SX Viper, SRX), giving them a more aggressive up-shift. Each spring is designed for the tall cover Yamaha primary clutch (SX Viper, SX-R, SRX, etc.).
