Hyfax Extender Wheel Spacer Kit-pro action |
|
1
Unbolt the rear idler cross shaft with the two wheels from the
suspension. Remove the C-clips and then the wheels from the shaft, the
wheels are press fit onto the shaft, support bearing at race when pressing
off wheels. 2
Install the wheels (snap ring side facing center) all the way onto
the new shaft provided in the kit, allowing the C-clips to seat in the
grooves. On SRX models only there’s a bracket to the
inside of the rail that must be turned around and put on the outside of
the rail by unbolting the rear pivot shaft, the end with the tab will now
go to the rear, separate the two pieces with the smaller tab part to the inside of the rail. On RX-1
models the washer that is between the rail and shaft on each side
is no longer used. 3
Put the idler shaft between the rails with the wheels in the
lowered position (bottom edge of the shaft should sit on the extruded rail
edge while lining up with the mounting holes of the rail). Place the
locking brackets between the shaft and the rails with the bottom edge of
the locking bracket sitting on the extruded edge of the slide rail, and
the raised edges of the brackets lining up with the machined flats on the
end of the shaft. Bolt the shaft in place using a drop of 271 (red) (or
similar) loctite on each bolt and tighten. 4
Unbolt the 4 idler wheels to the front outside of the rails, the
front bolts can be left in place. Discard the washer that goes between the
wheels and the rail brackets, and the stock steel spacers in the center of
the wheels. Put the new wheel spacers in the wheels to the large bearing
spacer side. On the front wheels slide them over the stock bolts (the
locking side of the spacer goes against the rail bracket), with the wheel
in the lowered position. Put the original washer to the outside of the
wheels, put a drop of red loctite on the bolt and then put on the nut and
tighten. On the back set of outer idler wheels put the spacers in the
wheels and put the locking side of the spacer against the rail bracket,
with the original washer on the bolt slide the bolt through the spacer,
bracket and rail. Put a drop of red loctite on the bolt then the nut and
tighten.
