Heavy Stabilizer Bar - installation instructions

Raise the front of the sled so the skis are not touching the floor. Remove the stock sway bar from the sled by unbolting the arms from the bar, on one side unbolt the arm from the sway bar link, this will make removal easier. Replace the stock bar with the new Pioneer Performance bar leaving the stock plastic bushings in the sway bar tube, the sway bar tube does not extend through the center of the frame so make sure to get the bar lined up when sliding it through. Put the arm that is still attached to the link on the sway bar as you slide it through, lining the indexing line on the bar with the indexing mark on the sway bar arm. There is a larger chamfer on one side of each arm, if possible (depending on the arms lining up) put this chamfer to the inside, and push the arm on as far as possible, this will reduce side play on the bar. The indexing mark of the bar may not line up perfectly with the indexing mark of the arm, this is normal, make sure when you install the arm on the other side the indexing mark is in the same position on each side, and the bolt hole in the arm lines up with the hole in the link, if not the arm may have to be turned around to line the and arm and link holes up. Once the arms line up, put the bolts through the arm and the link and tighten both.

The Pioneer Performance Sway Bar will reduce body roll when cornering, you may want to reduce pre-load on the ski shock springs to reduce steering effort and improve ride. The standard installed spring length is 258 millimeters (10 1/8”), with the shock fully extended. It is recommended to reduce pre-load by only one or two turns at a time on the spring adjusters until you achieve the desired combination of ride and handling.

For even better handling while maintaining a good ride in the front end, add the 2.1 kg/mm straight rate ski shock springs part # PP-8FA-600, or 2.3 kg/mm straight rate springs part # P-S113.

VECTOR SUSPENSION SETTINGS

When installing the heavy stabilizer bar on a Vector, the following changes along with the bar will enhance the handling.

Reduce center spring pre-load 1/4" (7 7/8" at free length).

Reduce ski shock spring pre-load 1/4" (9 1/4" at free length).

Adjust transfer rod nut up to 3rd line.
